I have known about the very large trial of netbooks in four regions of Victoria, Australia for some time now. It is a part of a considered approach to Primeminister, Kevin Rudd's Education Revolution plan to put a computer on the desk of every student in years 9-12 in the country.
The Netbook Trial starts at the more sensible stage of Year 7, the first year of High School in Victoria. Thank goodness teachers are making the decisions in Victoria and not politicians :)
I have just been informed about this ning 1 to 1 Netbook Trial and it looks to be a great resource for any teacher embarking on this exciting and challenging journey.
